In Voyager version 1.9.9, administrators can group locations together using a custom Field and its associated values. This Grouping by Location occurs during indexing, and is not dependent on any particular query or saved search. After indexing is complete, you can use this grouping as a Filter to refine your results.
How is this different from the regular Voyager filters? Normally, filters are populated based on the results of a particular query - they reflect the metadata characteristics of the search results. Grouping by Location lets you associate locations without having to refer to any search results. This gives you a method of grouping results in addition to Voyager's regular filters. You can also use multiple values for the Grouping by Location Field to allow different grouping solutions. Regular filters are restricted to the actual values present in the records in the search results.
